Annual Tree Walk – Greenmount Cemetery

Branch Out Burlington and the Burlington Cemetery Commission present a free walk through Greenmount Cemetery, Saturday, June 11, 10 am. The walk will feature significant trees in the cemetery, as well as several monuments of prominent Burlingtonians and Vermonters of the past 3 centuries. We will walk through the cemetery and hear from a number of people about aspects of the trees and memorials that make this cemetery special. Refreshments provided; rain or shine. With help from volunteers, we tend the trees in our nursery with regular fertilizing, mulching, weeding and pruning and lots of tender loving care. Student volunteers from local colleges and universities, as well as middle and high schools help out each year. We also host monthly weeding bees during the summer to encourage sustained public participation in the nursery.
