For the 12th year in a row, Branch Out Burlington! is offering bare-root trees at affordable prices. These trees are generally between 5-6 feet and branched, but check the descriptions below for a specific tree size on arrival. Please check your zone in the zone hardiness map provided in the menu on the right before purchasing a tree. All of our trees have been sold out!! Thanks so much for supporting our sale.

Spectacular red fall color two weeks earlier than other maples. A native species. Strong branching structure. Great shade tree, or plant in a row for startling effect! drought tolerant. Excellent replacement for ash, very tough attractive tree. A native species. Rounded open form. Moderate to rapid grower. Elm-like foliage. Distinct warty, grey bark. Very hardy, tolerates dry, alkaline or acidic soils clay soils and windy conditions. Purple berries attract birds! Full Sun. Grows to a height of 30-40 feet and a width of 30 feet. Zones 3-9. 6 ft. SOLD OUT Thornless Cockspur Hawthorne – Crataegus crus-galli var inermis
Thornless Cockspur Hawthorn (a native species) is covered in stunning clusters of white flowers in mid spring. Great accent tree which features horizontally-tiered branches, the glossy forest green leaves turn a striking red/orange in the fall. The fruits are showy red in abundance from early fall, right through to late winter, attracting birds. Grows to a height of 25 feet and spread of 25 feet. Zones 3-7. 5 ft. Price $58.00

A big, beautiful dark mahogany red cherry. These are some of the largest and juiciest cherries that grow on trees. The sweet taste is wonderful for baking and cooking. Highly resistant to browning. Blooms late May, ripening late July to August. Prolific producer of cherries. Grows to a height of 15-20 feet. Zones 4-8. 6 ft. Price $58.00.

Perfect for smaller spaces, compact, rounded crab. Among the first to bloom in spring. Coral color flower buds open to a showy semi-double pink flower followed by red-orange ½” berries. Resistant to scab, tolerates poor soil. Full sun. Grows to a height of 8-10 feet and a width of 12-15 feet. A good pollinator for the Liberty Apple. Zones 3-8. 5 ft. Price $58.00

Easily grown in full sun to part shade. A native species. Good alternative for underplanting green or white ash trees. River birch is perhaps the most culturally adaptable and this variety has improved tolerance to heat Prefers moist, acidic, fertile soils including semi-aquatic conditions, but also tolerates drier soils.
