Give-a-Tree Program
How Does the Program Work?
Each tree from the Give-a-Tree Program costs $150, which is used to purchase a young tree and cover the cost of its care in the BOB! Community Tree Nursery. Give-a-Tree donors and recipients are encouraged to take part in planting (1st Saturday in May, check our website calendar for details). Each tree recipient receives a personalized certificate acknowledging the gift, signed by the president of BOB! and the Burlington city arborist. After 2-3 years in the nursery, the tree is transplanted to a permanent place on public land in Burlington. The tree species purchased and its final planting site is determined by the city arborist and nursery manager. The city will take over the long term care of the tree when it leaves the nursery.

Giving a Tree
This program provides opportunities for people to contribute funds for trees to make Burlington a greener, healthier and more beautiful place. The donation is used to purchase and care for the tree that is grown in the Burlington Community Tree Nursery. After receiving loving care from Branch Out Burlington! volunteers, the tree is planted in its final home in a suitable place along a Burlington street or in one of the city parks.
